What are cookies
Cookies are small text files placed by your browser on your device (computer or phone) when you visit a website. They can store information like your preferences or identifiers. Cookies help websites remember you and provide useful features, but they can also be used to track your browsing. Under EU law, we only set non-essential cookies after you give consent.
How we use cookies
We use cookies in the following categories:
Strictly necessary (essential) cookies: These enable basic website functions (like security and the cookie consent banner itself). They are always on, because the site cannot function properly without them. For example, CookieYes sets a cookie to remember your consent preferences, and Google reCAPTCHA sets a cookie (_grecaptcha and NID) to detect bots for our form security (this is a security measure and does not track your identity). These cookies do not require consent.
Analytics/performance cookies: These collect anonymous usage data to help us improve the site. We use Google Analytics 4 cookies (such as _ga and _ga_<container-id> ) for this. These cookies count how many people visit the site, how they found it, and which pages they view. They are not strictly necessary, so we only set them if you consent via the banner. If you do not consent, these cookies remain off and only aggregated, non-identifying data is collected (e.g. visit timestamps, general referrer) under Google’s Consent Mode.
Functionality cookies (optional): We do not use any additional functional or advertising cookies beyond those above. We do not engage in advertising or social media tracking that sets cookies.
Cookie consent and control
When you first visit the site, a cookie banner (powered by CookieYes) asks your consent for optional cookies. By default, only essential cookies are active. You can toggle your choices there. Active and freely given consent is required for non-essential cookies. This means we cannot set analytics cookies (for example) without you checking the box to allow them. The banner provides information about each category of cookie and links to this Cookie Policy.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time:
Cookie banner: Click the cookie icon or banner link on the site (usually at the bottom of the page) to reopen the consent settings.
Browser settings: You can also manage cookies using your web browser settings (e.g. block or delete cookies). However, if you disable essential cookies, some features of the site may not work properly.
We follow the EU ePrivacy Directive (“Cookie Law”), which requires that “you must obtain active and clearly given consent for all non-essential cookies” and “inform people about what cookies do and why you are using them”. This Cookie Policy provides that information.

CookieYes consent cookie: Remembers your cookie consent preferences (essential).
_ga, ga<container> (Google Analytics): Duration 2 years. Used to distinguish unique visitors (analytics, not enabled without consent).
NID or _grecaptcha (Google reCAPTCHA): Used by reCAPTCHA to detect bots (security cookie, set on forms, no personal tracking).
Our cookie banner will list all active cookies and their purposes if you click “Cookie Settings” (or similar) in the banner.
Your choices
You can always choose which cookies to allow. Refusing cookies will not harm your device, but it may limit site functionality (for example, disabling analytics cookies means we can’t measure traffic statistics). You can clear cookies anytime through your browser.
